Young Drivers
If you are still within your probationary period which is the first two years after passing your driving test then you are at a higher risk of losing your licence.
If you accumulate six or more penalty points within your probationary period, this includes any offences you committed before passing the test, your driving licence will be revoked and it is mandatory for you to retake your test. After you have re-taken your test, your new driving licence will keep the six points accumulated previously, leaving you with the risk of a penalty points (totting up) disqualification if you incur a further six points on your licence within three years of the date of the first offence.
Statistics show that young drivers are most at risk of being involved in an accident in the first two years of driving, and one in five have a crash within a year of passing their test. Source Think road safety
However, if you have been charged with a driving offence it does not mean that you will automatically be convicted.
